Details and screen prints of the Royal Forestry Society Pancake Wood Challenge which is now live and has been designed to link into Key Stage 1 & 2 science and geography, and to encourage children to have fun exploring the wealth of wildlife that woodlands support.

New Educational Resources: China – Snapshots in Time
The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) has recently launched new learning resources to accompany its exhibition on China entitled ‘China – Snapshots in Time’. Resources target the Key Stage 2 and 3 Geography, History & Citizenship curricula and can be accessed by visiting the ‘Unlocking the Archives’ website for schools at www.unlockingthearchives.rgs.org

Free INSET Evening and exhibition viewing
The Society is pleased to offer a free INSET evening for Key Stage 3 History practitioners on Thursday 13th November from 5 to 7pm in Kensington, London. The evening will provide an opportunity to preview new educational resources, have a private tour of a new exhibition and obtain free resources for use in your teaching. Places are limited and teachers are advised to book their place early by calling the education officer on 0207 591 3057 or by emailing h.sanghera@rgs.org.

Show an exhibition at your school

News Real Project - Tyneside Cinema

News Real uses practical filmmaking skills to vividly bring heritage and history to life! We have developed a programme that supports the curriculum in a creative and inspiring way.

The Project provides teachers with new skills and resources to work with their pupils, via InSET days and teachers' resource packs.

New Educational Resources from The Royal Geographical Society with IBG

Information to schools re a range of educational resources offered by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) as part of a project entitled Crossing Continents: Connecting Communities. This 3 year project aims to make the Society's unique archive collections more accessible to both school children and teachers as well as members of the public. Through the course of the project,four exhibitions are being developed initially focussing on the Afghan, East African, Chinese and Punjabi elements of the RGS collections.
