Circular letter to all schools regarding holidays in term time and persistent absence, 2008 Easter holiday arrangements and attached letters to parents

To inform middle and high school headteachers of the new requirement for local authorities to have in place an In-term Fair Access Protocol by September 2007.

Circular letter + attachments as follows:

• Overall absence for all schools 2005/06
• School absence targets 2006/07
• School absence target 2007/08
• Overall absence for schools (NOT High schools) 2006/07
• Number of persistent absentees recorded for 2006/07 (High Schools only; because of data protection consideration the low numbers of PA pupils in most Middle and First Schools are not available in this format. If required, information specific to individual schools can be provided on request)
